Youtube alternatives

When I go to the YouTube, I go to seek the music, movie trailers and tutorials on how to do some things. And there are a huge number of people who do exactly that and nothing else. So, from my standpoint, I doubt the YouTube will fall.

But, if anyone for any reason has been banned, or can not reach that magical number of subscribers in order to earn from their channel then I suggest leaning toward alternatives.

Now, this article suggests a few alternative platforms, but not all. There are more. The benefit of all of them is that they already have a population, audience and you don't need to seek external sources of traffic.

The downfall is that an each of these has more demanding audience, while the people who use the YouTube as their primary video source are more laid back.

Decentralized or blockchain based storages

IPFS

IPFS (InterPlanetary File System) is a decentralized and distributed network for storing and accessing files, websites, and other data. It aims to replace traditional centralized server-client systems with a peer-to-peer network where each node has a unique identifier (hash) and can store and retrieve data from any other node in the network.

IPFS offers several advantages over traditional centralized file storage systems, including:

  • Decentralization: IPFS distributes files across a network of nodes, rather than relying on a central server, making it more resistant to downtime, censorship, and single points of failure.
  • Content Addressing: Files are identified by a unique hash, allowing for efficient and permanent links to content, making IPFS well suited for hosting websites, images, and other content.
  • Versioning: IPFS supports versioning of files, allowing for easy collaboration, rollback, and preservation of historical versions.
  • Improved Efficiency: IPFS is designed to be fast and efficient, allowing for faster access times and reduced network congestion compared to traditional file transfer protocols.
  • Interoperability: IPFS is protocol agnostic and can be used to transfer data between different networks, making it a flexible solution for data storage and transfer.
  • Privacy: IPFS provides options for encrypting and distributing data in a way that protects the privacy of both the users and the data itself.
